The Japanese language does lend itself easily to an endless chain of run-on sentences where the subject quickly becomes blurry. Very useful for programmers and politicians alike. :p

Just another nitpick: "は" is pronounced as "wa" not "ha" when it is used as the topic marker, as in the well-known greeting "Konnichiwa".

This looks a lot like how Chinese characters are composed of individual "radicals", arranged like tetris blocks inside the same square box. Some of them affect the meaning of the letter, while others only signify the sound it'

If you're going to change the order defined in RFC 4648, you might as well change the character set, too. Since one of the goals is to minimize the use of characters that can be confused for another, I would add back 8 and 9 and remove

Back-of-napkin calculation using really rough estimates: The average person exhales about 1kg of CO2 per day. That's 542L per day. Let's say you produce 20% of your daily CO2 output during the night, since your metabolism is lower

IE6 as well as some of the later versions also got the gamma wrong, so even if you used a non-transparent PNG the colors would be subtly different from the surrounding CSS colors.

The trick is that you can get a loan to pay the jeonse deposit. The interest rate for jeonse loans is considerably lower than for a regular mortgage, and until recently even lower than paying rent, because these loans are effectively guaran

Compare the cost of operating multiple servers, on one hand, with the lost revenue from having weekly or monthly maintenance windows during which you just put up a Fail Whale page. Most people overestimate the latter by a huge margin.
