Adding to this, in a real situation those variables are probably not going to be nice single letter variables. With longer names the Lisp syntax with unambiguous structure/order of precedence becomes much nicer. (if (or (and foobar

Your example is also misleading. The `a` and `expr` are written as variables in the left example, but as function calls in the Lisp version. More correctly it would be either if (a && !b) { expr } => (if (and a (not b)) expr)

The CLHS[1] they mentioned has been available online for ages. What they're talking about is making a more modern site. Generating a PDF from the spec wouldn't get them any closer to that goal. [1]: http://www.lispworks

That would be student benefits[1] rather than basic income. At least here in Finland (and other Nordics) we already do that. Basic income is supposed to be given unconditionally to everyone. [1]: https://en.wikipedia.org/wik

India+China+Central Africa may be less affected than the rest of the world, but I doubt there are only 41M obese people there. The map shows that in China there are 8.2%/7.4% obese men/women (or maybe the other way around; I have

You're thinking it the wrong way around. The default is that a person always owns the result of his work. Employees sign an agreement to give that result to their employer in exhange for a wage. If there is no agreement, the person who

Is the word "medieval" commonly used to refer to some African time period? My understanding is that the term refers specifically to the Middle Ages, which is a time period in European history, so it wouldn't make any sense to

Personally I like doing text-only work (such as programming) in a TTY with Emacs. I'd like to have a machine with no X at all, but unfortunately there aren't many good framebuffer-friendly graphical tools (fbi is good for viewing
