A company is a company, not a family. It's about making money, not about relationships. For better or worse, it's never really personal.

Am I the only one who's terrified of giving control of my authentication to a carrier? They have had so many absurd security breaches. Not to mention it's so easy to walk into any store and get a SIM card for someone else's a

It doesn't sound like they have limitations on where you live. They only ask that you come to their SOMA office every day. You can live in a more affordable place like Oakland and take BART or Redwood City and take Caltrain.

+1 for work friends, but I would also add that small startups have a bigger chance of strong comradery. You work long hours with the same people on something you all feel is important.

UPX is usually better than other generic compression utilities. IIRC it actually modifies the executable before compressing it to provide better compression. I think on Windows it reversibly changes relative addresses to absolute addresses

I agree. You should take pictures of any valuables you leave behind so it'd be easier to prove you owned them to the insurance. Take pictures of serial numbers when possible.

There's no argument there. I would actually like to learn more about Facebook's recruiter situation to understand how this can happen. That's definitely something you want to avoid in your own company.

And yet that's the hand you've been dealt. You can be right, or you can get the job.

In your experience, does it make sense for Facebook to also hire low-level recruiters to go over a mass of students? Would those recruiters be expected to do the same?

In my home country we say sometimes it's better being smart than right. The recruiter is doing their job and antagonizing them, no matter how right you are, is not the smart move.

You have bigger fish to fry if growth goes negative. If you think that's going to be the case soon in your country, maybe retirement homes would be a wiser investment.

If the books are free, what about making money on the way people read them? Kindle affiliate links, maybe a service that sends the free books to your Kindle, affiliate links to reading accessories, etc.

Have you considered using Amazon affiliate links to make it easy for your users to buy the books? They get an easy way to buy the recommended book, and you get a cut of the purchase.

Don't they already have those in Boeing 787? They say "... available smart windows are ... expensive, have a blue tint, can take more than 20 minutes to dim ..." but the windows in the 787 dim in a few seconds and are evident

I was referring to the sheer number of people being born. Even if the growth rate is declining, it's still a lot of ever growing number of people looking for housing.

With the way population is growing, owning land anywhere (that's not going to be swallowed by the sea) sounds like a good idea to me. If you have some disposable income and don't mind a possibly long wait (and the taxes too), I&#x

I've added some more comments as many people asked for them. I initially tried to keep it very simple to the point where you read a little piece of code and think to yourself that's really cool and I want to try it out in Python 3

Your old but gold EXE still has access to system registry and files. It also commonly requires a lot of DLLs and configuration files next to it. A container has all the dependencies contained and has a private set of files and registry. So
