Exactly! I would use that way more than the ,, that I use now to break into command mode.

I wonder if this would work better as a temporary mode (like how a real clutch works). For example, you stay in insert mode until you press the pedal, which escapes you to command mode, and then restoring insert mode after you depress the

Well, who should get paid more, the getaway driver, or the guy who orchestrated the bank robbery?

I think so - I wasn't sure what the paywall would look like and having to dig through the directory seems unintuitive. It doesn't even have to actually have any purchasing logic either.

Why don't you have an example on your site?

A fifteen letter password that is a mixture of letters, numbers and symbols is only 56% complex? That's bonkers. What's the point of measuring complexity if you aren't going to be able to remember the password?

Doesn't Fair Use cover "commentary, criticism, news reporting, research, teaching, library archiving and scholarship."? This site seems non-profit and educational in nature, so I would imagine it would pass the balancing test if push came

I'm not sure that's how people think of it, if someone just came up to you and said that your desk is coming up on 5 years and you should replace it, or your car is nearing a decade and you should replace it "just because", I'd be pretty he

A sentence about how severe the problem is and how many people it practically affects wouldn't have hurt.

I agree, had no idea what was going on (figured I didn't have IE so it wouldn't show) until I read your comment. Some of the examples are too subtle for this flashy animations (like kerning) and some just look bad (like the word affluent in

This works extremely well for me. I wouldn't recommend stopping mid-sentence but leaving an implementation incomplete (eg. just have to fill out another method and everything fits together) allows me to start the next day running.

Why so negative looking? All releases except for Honeycomb have been opensourced allowing for a number of custom roms used on millions of devices (cyanogen, miui) which is more than can be said for other platforms. The openness of Android

I agree with the fact that it's not really about the $2 or even how many competitors there are -- it just happens to be that the apps are currently priced about the same as a coffee. My hypothesis is that the bigger question is really one o

Wow, this guy is so pretentious. Engineers are a creative bunch, and Peter Norvig's post seemed more like an overview of why your images turn out less optimal than they could be. How the composition and what you decide to shoot aren't eve

Hmm, how is this any worse than reddit or stumbleupon or delicious "profiting" from sharing everyone else's content? It's just reorganizing the information that is already available?

Well data liberation doesn't say that they have to act as a drop box for you. If you have full control of your music to begin with to upload, that's pretty much liberated by the very definition of the term.

It's a decent and useful feature, the only real issue I have with it is the empty space underneath. When you have a short document, I find myself clicking on that empty space to get to the end of the line and then being confused as to why

To be fair, even the expensive weather tracking systems they use get their fair share of the calls wrong and they employ watchers at different parts of the track (down the back straights, at the corners of the track, themselves at the pit s

Does anyone know how to tweak the windowing behaviour so that it doesn't open up all your previous windows (or group the new file in the same window as your other project)? Other than the lack of usable options, it's pretty nice!

To be fair, human memory and attention span is much smaller than that of the system so I imagine the curation is more useful mentally than technically? Same reason that once in a while, I purge my 20 or so odd open browser/ide tabs.
