It's a valid point, but at the end of the day my family wanted something that "just works" and they look to me for guidance on hardware so when they were ready, iOS it is. I think Google misunderstood the critical importance

They lost my whole extended family as customers, this nonsense confused the heck out of my parents and we gave up trying to figure it out. I just told my folks to get iPhones and we use facetime

I think you're right, and I'd go one step further to suggest that it's already happening. The path to radicalization for young American males is well known and straightforward and already delivers stochastic terrorism (not is

You might be surprised much time kids have on their hands. Typing help on old school dos prompt gave some hints iirc. Somehow I found qbasic, maybe just listing some directory which started an endless rabbit hole of self learning for me.

Interesting how #1 seems to imply but not explicitly call out the relationship (or lack thereof) with motor vehicles. Their widespread usage in the US is one of the contributing factors in obesity.

Yes similar to "beer goggles" (yes it's a real thing) they showed us in college to try to prevent drunk driving. We put on the beer goggles and played Mario kart. But it wasn't like being drunk.
