At CHI conference about a decade ago I spoke with some of the lead HCI researchers at Mitsubishi (which has long contributed to human factors research). During Q/A they said the single best thing you could do to improve safety was to N

I wanted to up vote you, but did some research and turns out that both the FDA and the European Food Safety Authority have not found evidence that it is: "The current assessment concluded that glyphosate does not have oestrogen, androg

My monthly upvote for Thorn being an amazing organization with a great mission.

Although not for the faint of heart, the work Thorn does is incredible. I highly recommend anyone who is looking to transition to a 'higher, real-world' impact role to look at this! Disclaimer: Not affiliated with Thron, just a fa

Was able to get the site to load after several tries, which has led to a humorous juxtaposition with the comments here. Other commenters are saying that they know what drives software costs, and while I agree with some of the comments, ther

Yes, the on boarding for FullStory is excellent and they go out of their way to help you try to get it right. Odds are you'll end up doing a better job at protecting privacy in FullStory than in your own log files, but YMMV.

+1 - having session recordings is a HUGE win to help track down hard-to-reproduce bugs. You can get the strangest bug reports, and by watching the session, as a dev, you can instantly translate it into the technical terms that the end user

If a company is serious about security and privacy, they have to do those audits for every feature, regardless of if they use these tools. PCI requires this if you handle money online. Still, you're right that many companies have a sur

+1 for highlighting the privacy concerns, but -1 for blaming the software for not having strong enough defaults. As someone who has integrated FullStory into a production site, I spent several days doing a careful audit of our forms and red

Yep. I'm sure there are plenty of for-profits doing meaningful stuff too. Given OP's original question, seemed like he was missing non-profit from his search. I'd suggest searching (non-profit + meaningful for-profit).

This is irresponsible conjecture. AWS has very strict privacy and data safe guards in place. There are a number of laws (particularly in the EU) that forbid such practices. https://aws.amazon.com/compliance/data-privacy

I also highly recommend the Global Disaster and Alert Communication System set up by the UN and European Commission. Their ranking of orange vs red level events tends to map pretty well to how serious the event is in terms of destruction.

Several easy ways to do this. First, you could send an email to existing customers telling them that you are raising prices but that you are grandfathering them in and their rate won't change. Danger here is that you then go on record
