It's crazy to think, in 10 years, who will be the grandchildren of these legends..

Not sure I follow. Kevin Rose seems pretty successful with Google Ventures and the piratebay is just a torrent site.

I always thought Moot (as the founder of 4chan) was equipped to build a product far different than something tame like Canvas. It's never good when something fails, but I hope he gets in touch with his weird side and relishes the fact

Love this. Largely cause I started following him right when I joined twitter and thought I was going crazy. Have I been ignoring this guys' tweets all this time or did he really just go from zero to 100?

Well said. I rarely make it all the way through slide shows like this, let alone reach the end wanting more.

I think people underestimate how easy it would be to deny Snowden's allegations without specific examples of overstepping reach by NSA.

For those curious, this is mostly a result of Disney. http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/the-switch/wp/2013/10/25...

Sound the alarm when someone finds that Google keeps a list of websites visited via incognito.

I agree. And I'm always curious why articles take such a tone like this. This is probably to improve the UX anyway. Some people probably type a long status and their browser crashes. This feature lets them restore it.

I mean, yeah, that's what we're told. But the fact remains - drone strikes create terror. And on the other side, believing terrorist acts are simply to create terror is naive.

This is an interesting point... I think it matters - possibly for a different reason. If you imagine from the ground: a terrorist car bomb VS a drone strike, they're virtually indistinguishable. Both are explosions without warning by t

I agree it frees people up to do the goofy, but as someone who's been doing the goofy my whole life, snapchat does nothing to add value in that respect. It just promotes it and now people understand the goofy.

Good point. My plan offers unlimited text and 98% of my friends are in the US so I often forget this.

I didn't know Android did that. If you're texting tons of photos I can see it getting out of control

See that's what I'm saying. Someone texts you a photo, it doesn't go into your photo list. It stays in your text convo. I'm all for data management and removing clutter, but I can think of 500 items to clear out before I

I think snapchat's timeout feature is a novelty that attracted users, but people ultimately just want to send private messages to their friends. Not everything needs to be broadcasted, and that's part of the OG instagram userbase

Not the move I expected. POS integration has always been a huge challenge so I guess they're saying their online experience is good enough to shift focus away? It will be interesting to see how this move pans out.

About time! I'm not entirely sure what GCE is, but if it means Google puts more effort into appengine I'm all for it. Besides, AWS needs a valid competitor that it has no chance of buying.

It's great. I use it mostly for small projects and weird prototyping ideas ( http://wookietranslator.com ). It does take a while to configure and get going (unlike Heroku) but Google has good documentation for Python.

And what if I'm just jealous I didn't have SO during my CS days and want to punish the kids a bit? Is that so bad?
