I'm not a fan of the SMG myself (or equivalents from other manufacturers) nor is anyone else I know. But it's not really because of any real performance metric. SMG is far better at changing gears than any of us mortals could accomplish. Bu

Only electric vehicles start at 0 RPM. Normal combustion engines idle under 1,000 RPM and the M5 has a fairly flat torque curve for a naturally aspirated car with somewhere around 260lbs at idle. That's very good and about 50% of its peak t

This is very strange and foreign reasoning to me. I competitively raced cars in an amateur series. You are claiming that the Tesla's superior throttle response makes it faster 0-60. The car needs to move the weight, so measuring it from whe

Every existing shop and many auto enthusiasts can currently handle that without too much of a problem. I'd see it as similar to a transmission swap, but more likely simpler. The average person can't change a tire, or the small 40lb battery

The "learn how" link is a call to action but you really haven't given enough info for me to want to click it. Also, it suffers from a bit of a design-color challenge. The shade of blue you've picked doesn't provide enough contrast against t

I don't think the fact that you'd be their first client is why you should run away screaming, I think all of what you said here is: "They then sent over an offer to pay them $7k (half up-front) for the preparation of an investment kit (inco

I think some of my fellow Canadians are being a bit harsh on Square here. You raise some good points, Starbucks is also one of the only places here in Canada that I still swipe at. Most other places insert chip. But I think it will take a l

Which fees? On rare occasions some retailers try to charge a small fee at the point of sale on debit payments but I've never heard of a fee for the consumer to use debit. I don't use cash and haven't for years. I only pay with debit.

Regulations differ across different industries and most have an industry association that you can become a part of to do research. Manufacturing is very old-hat in North America. Truly rapid prototyping is bringing costs down, like a great

That's a 16% increase in weight and a 312% increase in power. I used to be a frequent poster on s2ki (autocross an AP1), the weight isn't that much of a hinderance when you increase power that much. Braking and turning will suffer.

There's definitely some truth to this. I live and work in a manufacturing town. I've worked for medium to largish manufacturers (500 people), to small ones (~15 people), and a couple in between. There are a lot of opportunities for technolo

Turn it into a desktop app that works with Outlook and flavour of the month ERP and you just killed Salesforce. Every sales rep, sales manager, and marketer on the planet would love this. Great work.

It is a valid approach. In fact I'd argue that companies being profitable in the first month (or first year) are the exceptions, not the rule. Another public example is Amazon, they didn't record a profit until 8 years after incorporation:
