Good timing - this just came up at my work over the last few days. Being from an OLAP background makes it hard to wrap my head around this approach.

This is probably not something you'll hear the companies say themselves, but frequently the exchange rate between the US and other countries is set on a yearly or even long-term historical basis and not modified. With the long term historic

This might only be a tip for the young (or young-at-heart) but hostels, for all their associations with debauchery and loutishness, are frequently full of exactly the sort of people you'd want to spend time with. Interested, excited, inform

Hard to make comment without being able to see what was considered defamatory, but these cases always have the taint of large corporations using their size and cash to squash criticism, no matter how valid their defamation case.

I hope these guys become the case study for "If you can just avoid dying, you get rich". Something that's been hinted at a lot through this series of posts are technical challenges that adioso faced that almost killed them, I'm really looki

If the point is that Harry solved the problem but failed to consider the politics of the solution, and so was fired, wouldn't it make more impact if he was the only one to declare that the Boss should be fired, instead of all three of them

We're very interesting is maximising site speed (which we are currently reviewing - too many plugins slowing things our Wordpress site up) but I don't think we could easily manage to produce a new post everyday using a static site generator

I think we had a few posts from our blog hit the home page. As we started in Dec 2012 there wasn't too much to show, so no investor contacts etc. What we did get was a huge amount of great feedback, some monetisation suggestions and offers,

It's pretty clearly a sarcastic point. The main thrust of the article is that Amazon appears to be given special treatment by Wall Street analysts and the investment community - everyone is banking on them being able to produce massive prof

There is absolutely nothing wrong with saying "Hey, that's a nice attempt. You can do better next time by looking at this, or this, and did you consider that". Suddenly you've taught someone something, and you didn't have to bend your princ

Thanks for taking the time to write this all down - Jacob and I really appreciate the feedback. I absolutely agree with your points about the call to action - it's funny how often you can't see something that you've built from a different p

I rented an 18-200mm Nikon lens for a week in England when we went away for Christmas. The process relatively pain free, it was posted in a very padded box, and I just posted it back when I was done. I think it was about 60 pounds all told.
