True, this doesn't do data migrations, and we still write the occasional(1) data migration when needed. But those are no more difficult to write, and the much more common non-data migrations are an order of magnitude easier. So net w

Yes it is. One of the many reasons I've migrated away from the Java world. (There are no non-spring/non-hibernate jobs left!) Years ago I wrote a "get me the hell out of spring" tool: https://code.google.com

I also left my PhD program shortly after passing quals. I think it's a great time to bail. There are too many great classes you'll have to pass on if you're only long enough to get a masters, and you haven't yet burned
