Cloudflare Workers run in V8 isolates, which are much lighter-weight than containers, with the ability to run thousands in the same process, and start up new ones quickly on-demand. For Cloudflare it's usually easier to start your appl

That should be only if you're on the free plan that has a 10ms time limit. Paid plan gets 30 whole seconds which is plenty of time to hash lots of passwords.

If you have a reproducible test case that runs reasonably quickly, then I think printf debugging is usually just as good as a "real" debugger, and a lot easier. I typically have my test output log open in one editor frame. I mak

Some games support it, some don't, but why does it even matter? Surely internet connections are sufficiently ubiquitous these days that nobody is trying to play PC games while totally offline? You can still have the players in the sa

Well I certainly do get stressed sometimes (particularly when cat-herding at work) but overall really can't complain! BTW it's not a renovation, we build the house from scratch on an empty lot. :)

I have a wireless keyboard nearby that I used to select songs. Yeah I have never used the bar. Probably because I learned to play at home, starting on a basic foam pad, and so obviously didn't have the bar available.

I don't recall what the price difference between K and non-K was at the time. I'm not a big fan of overclocking but I think the price difference must have been negligible. Or it might have been that the only "F" options

Oddly enough, my memory of IPX/SPX was that it "just worked" by default whereas when we switched to IP we started having to manually configure IP addresses and make sure no one chose the same address. That said my first LAN p

The kids' cat doors have latches so they can lock them. The primary bedroom's cat door technically is lockable but I don't know why I'd ever lock it! The lower-level bedroom's cat door doesn't have a lock, but

Correct! We never wear headsets at LAN parties because it defeats the purpose. Each computer has a sound bar and everyone just uses that. Yeah, that means everyone's sound gets mixed up and you don't get positional audio, but in p

I dug up an old video from 2003 and tweeted it: https://x.com/KentonVarda/status/1857991074708369788 But my parties go back to 1996, before we had digital cameras. I'm hoping my mother is able to dig up some
