I do not think usd will collapse but it is loosing it value every day. Year on year the Money supply is increasing and that the value of usd is decreasing. The increase in Money the last 12 months is around 8%

I have looked at Azure but they do not provide fully managed although the website way of doing it would be close. One still need to setup backups. I am also a bit unsure about the performance for the web site feature?

Elop must have the record in destroying a company. In 5 years a company went from being market leader with something like 90% of the smartphone market to almost bankrupt. I do not think something like this have ever happened this fast.

I think a lot of people will be surprised how good the Microsoft web stack have become. They have copied a lot from java and ruby and added great tooling. I think the .Net stack from 4.0 and later is one of the best development environments

You can get a windows VPS for 30$ with 1 gig memory that will perform quite well. Ofcourse Linux is cheaper but a licence to Windows Web Server edtion is 15$ a month on most hosting companies. You also have the BizSpark and WebSpark program

Totally agree. I bought a Symbian phone in 2003 (Nokia 6600) and got a new one in 2008 and the user interface was almost the same. The only difference was better looking icons and more options. The applications was the same as before.
