I've been using Typescript for over a year, and the amount of improvement in that relatively short time span has been incredible. With 2.1, Typescript shows no signs of slowing down.

I'm not sure why this is down voted. Just because X historically achieved A doesn't imply that achievement(X+Y) <= A, so you can't deduce the absence of a handicap from that.

News like this has nothing to do with startups or the tech scene. Or am I missing something here?

Agreed. But worth it, at the end of the day, wouldn't you say?

If this works as advertised, this may prove to be a very useful project, that can replace numerous homegrown, half-complete implementations strewn about the internet.

Having used and studied both React and Angular2, Angular2 can do certain things that React can't. Two features at the forefront of this difference are: 1) Dependency injection 2) Direct support for using observables and promises in te

They're not exactly comparable. Java's type system gets in your way. Typescript only gets in the way when you ask it to. The dev experience can be quite different.

Can't comment on what the author used, but Mnesia can be used to build a primitive, durable MQ: http://learnyousomeerlang.com/mnesia There is also RabbitMQ, which itself is written in Erlang.

I love the direct integration of async support in templates. You can extract the value of promises and observable directly in templates using the async pipe, which cuts down on a lot of boilerplate. That means your templates can directly s
