Also, spatula hits the pan quite often and the pan surface routinely goes way above 200F. Talking searing and it's what 400F to 500F? Boiling too, the pan surface gets much hotter than boiling water.

Why historical did empires collapse or split? Was there always a noble reason that a portion of some empire declared themselves independent and fought a war for it? Maybe they just wanted to be rulers in their own land because they were you

It’s just Bayesian thinking. Too much open mindedness to scientific papers can have you frequently changing your beliefs based on some recent scientific paper that came out, or even worse based on a recent college graduate journalist’s summ

Crowing on saying “it’s not your code, they can do what they want” is an attempt to do that. Fork, patch, maintaining your private whatever, that’s not the point, and is a digression.

Because Ruby is nothing without the community around it. If they wanted to make Ruby and don’t care about the people using it, they should go private, shut down the project, or have someone else take over. It’s wrong to shut down discussion

Machine translation in Firefox I think works locally. That has to be a neural net and those models can be just a couple of hundred megabytes.

Doctors going into uber salesman mode selling dangerous surgery is super common. So very common among heart surgeons it’s comical. Point is, blindly trusting doctors and their judgements will in all likelihood just turn you into a sickly pe

It depends on your personality or worldview. Some people would be much more comfortable lowering their chances of “what ifs” than leaving it all to fate.

I pretty much make it standard practice to get an apple tv or whatever streaming device for all tvs and not allow internet access to the tvs. You have zero control over the tv, so why subject yourself or others to it instead of getting a $5

Yeah, pandas is truly awful. After working with things like R, ggplot, data.table, you soon realize pandas is the worst dataframe analysis and plotting library out there. I pretty much consider anyone who likes it to have Stockholm syndrome

I don’t even think it’s about leadership. Isn’t it weird for somehow to care about people who they only know through the phone or zoom calls? Some people won’t find that weird but I think a significant number of people would, or just can’t
