Don't feel bad - you're absolutely correct. Really rough/unintuitive design here.

This is silly. Yes, if you're not the one paying, then you're the product. However, I do get things in return - I get to connect with people I don't get to see too often anymore and see what they're up to in their lives.

Really looking forward to seeing the results. Still, what a redonkulous amount of money. Must be nice to sell a business and then move right into a comfy $250k a year job.

I'm always blown away when I read things like this: "Even many Amazonians who have worked on Wall Street and at start-ups say the workloads at the new South Lake Union campus can be extreme: marathon conference calls on Easter Sun

Hugely disappointing, but not really their fault - from the title I thought this would be a guide to winning the board game Risk.

I probably would leave, but mainly because I feel that by paying most of the employees the same amount, the company is showing they don't value the employees who are actually worth more to the business. This shows poor management in my

Something I hadn't seen discussed with much clarity is what happened to the employees who were already making 70k+? If I was working there making that much, would I see a similar percent increase? If not, then I'd be pretty angry

Open offices are not my favorite - I prefer silence or music of my choosing when I'm working. There's nothing worse than a loud sales meeting going on 10 feet away from you when you're trying to code.

Thanks for taking the criticism so well! If you're looking for an easy solution where you don't have to worry about design but still want a nice, modern site, I'd recommend looking into purchasing a Bootstrap or Wordpress the

This seems like a cool service, but you may want to think about a site redesign. The bare bones look may appeal to the Hacker News crowd, but most people may hesitate to port their number over to a company with a site that looks so dated, w

I am beyond excited to get a chance to try that. When I first saw the Oculus, these types of games were the first thing that came to my mind.

Despite the tough subject matter, these are my favorite kinds of games. Maybe it's because I played so many video games growing up, but now that I'm in my late twenties most of them don't really capture me anymore. I get bore

Anyone who's ever actually written a website using vanilla CSS and then gotten to write a site with Sass knows that not using a preprocessor in this day and age is insane. It makes things 1000x easier to write and more importantly to m

This is rather silly. What's next? Are we going to change the uniforms of Nazis in World War 2 games? Start putting "CENSORED" watermarks over the confederate flag in civil war themed movies? The flag shouldn't be flying

I'm really glad to hear that they changed their minds on this one, though it's sad they needed public shaming to do the right thing. Most people don't really appreciate how hard it is to make money with music, nor the insane

It's strange that they're putting these measures in place when sugar is significantly more damaging to people. High fructose corn syrup would have been a much better target.

This is brilliant, reminds me of the story I heard of how Michelangelo was working on a statue, might have been the David, and the patron walked in and said something along the lines of, "Looks good, but the nose is a little big, can y

This is very true, not just in Twitter but in real life as well. Most people just want to talk, they don't really want to listen to what you have to say.

Cool concept! Unfortunately though it seems like you may have chosen a terrible pricing model for it. There's no way I'd pay $5 upfront for something I'm not sure I'd even really need and would just want to try out. You

Just want to give you a heads up - your listing for Front End Engineer is misleading. When you actually get to the description page, the job title suddenly changes to "Front-end UI Designer/Developer", and includes having to
