I don’t have experience but I have heard of winelib which is a library implementing Win32 APIs. I suppose you don’t compile your code as PE executable, but compile to Linux natively while dynamically linking to winelib.

I’ve always installed both wine and wine-32bit on Linux. Does this mean I can now delete wine-32bit after this?

But if you do that, you'll also find it easy to write plain JS without any libraries or frameworks. document.querySelectorAll is just slightly more verbose than $(). I have personally done this: for simple web pages, I just eschew all

No that’s wrong. If I’m looking at a photograph, then 000000 should look like 000000 and FFFFFF should look like FFFFFF. Sure FFFFFF is just blown highlights but that’s the photographer’s intention. Maybe I’m the photographer and I’m develo

FFFFFF and 000000 are simply too much contrast for my eyes to read comfortably regardless of which is background and which is text. I prefer a background of ECECEC with text being 333333 if I’m in light mode, or the other way around in dark

Same! My employer offered a choice of 32-inch and 40-inch monitors. I “upgraded” from 32 to 40 but I regretted it. I just don’t make use of the extra horizontal space effectively.

If you just want 32 inches @ 6K there are cheaper options around, such as the ASUS ProArt PA32QCV: https://www.asus.com/us/displays-desktops/monitors/proart/pr... ASUS is a more well known brand. It does

I think “atomic” implies something more than just “once” because for atomic we customarily consider the memory order with that memory access, but “once” just implies reading and writing exactly once. Neither are good names because the kerne

It totally is. I don’t remember where I heard it from but there’s a saying that all poverty is energy poverty. Not enough food for your citizens? That’s because you don’t have enough energy to run the Haber Bosch process for fertilizer prod

I find it the other way around. I remember vividly that the textbook I was using for proving Gödel's first incompleteness theorem was insufferable and dense. Wikipedia gave a nice and more easily understood proof sketch. Pedagogically

The 8-10kW isn’t a big deal anymore given the prevalence of electric vehicles and charging them at home. A decade ago very few homes have this kind of hookup. Now it’s reasonably common, and if not, electricians wouldn’t bat an eye on insta

I had a fascination with 100% cotton clothing about ten years ago. These days I don’t. I’m working out a lot more and I care more about quick-drying and moisture-wicking fabrics. I suppose I’m a victim of the athleisure trend where athletic

That’s not true. On any Mac or iPhone you can choose the iCloud Photo Library storage option to download all instead of letting the system optimize the storage. And if you turn off iCloud Photo Library, it will also try to download it all.
