The article states 1,000 vertical feet. Obviously this is targeting small drones and not commercial aircraft or even general aviation.

The CCP is known to be very aggressive. Even if the founders acquired Singaporean citizenship (which is way easier for ethnic Chinese people than for other races), the CCP would have taken them hostage if they just set foot in China like fo

I would’ve expected that people who like computers will converge around something like Idris. It’s marketed as a development tool, not a tool for formalizing mathematics even though it could be used as a proof assistant.

I shoved math aside because I think for most of the HN crowd it wouldn’t be a good use of their time to do what mainstream mathematics is about, like the “things such as Grothendieck schemes and perfectoid spaces” the article also reference

For the HN crowd who are generally programmers but not necessarily mathematicians, it’s more relevant to consider the programming side of things. There is a very good book (one I haven’t finished unfortunately) that covers Lean from a funct

As a bicyclist I kinda agree with Waymo. Unless there is a strong separation (physical barrier) between the car lane and the bike lane, the rules of the road is that one always overtakes on the left; this implies that if a car is stopped, o

The phrase “missing comma” is missing an article. You need “a” or “the” before that. As a result when reading your comment, I subconsciously think of it as low quality. But it’s okay. HN comments aren’t supposed to be high quality anyways.

I try hard not to care but subconsciously spelling errors and grammar issues scream low-quality work to me. It’s the kind of mistake that’s the easiest to correct, and they didn’t bother.

This effect is very obvious on me. I consistently get headaches when my sodium intake is too high. I don’t even use MSG in my own cooking but occasionally I add too much salt.

Yeah but logic bugs cannot be found by tools. Whereas for UB at least we have address sanitizer and UB sanitizer and valgrind and many similar tools. You can recreate what these tools do in your API, and that’s extra work: a use-after-free

So what’s your coding style in Clojure? Do you eschew lazy sequences as much as possible and only use either non-lazy manipulation functions like mapv or transducers? I liked using lazy sequences because it’s more amenable to breaking large

That does not sound like a good example. The two-argument form of `map` already returns a lazy sequence. Same for `filter`. I thought lazy sequences are already supposed to get rid of the performance problem of materializing the entire coll

Your worldview aligns very well with what Apple is doing anyways. All you need to do is to use macOS, and only download apps from the Mac App Store (because they are sandboxed). And millions of non-technical Apple users are doing just that.
