Well once you bring law into it then you have to be accurate. Insulting someone is almost never unlawful in the US. And discrimination laws apply to specific matters for specific special classes.

DLSS upscaling is good. On a 4k display I can't see any visual reason not to run the Balanced preset. DLSS frame gen on the other hand I'm much more skeptical of. Every time I've tried it something just feels off.

A major chip acquisition by Nvidia will probably never get global regulatory approval. I guess the question is what does Mediatek provide in the partnership. Nvidia is well versed in developing ARM SoCs already.

In all those historical cases the second tier card was a cut down version of the top tier one. Now the 4080 and 5080 are a different chip and there's a gulf of a performance gap between them and the top tier. That's the issue I am

Making comparisons to the 5090 is silly. That thing draws 500W+ and will require a boat anchor of metal to keep it cool. The device they showed is something more along the lines of a mobile dev kit.

No way is the GPU half a GB200. I'd expect something much lower end and power conscious. They mention 1 PFLOP for FP4, GB200 is 40 PFLOP.
