I am not an expert but libvirt is not only for qemu but it supports various virtualization technologies such as Xen, LXC, VMware. So if you decide to stick with QEMU then I guess you don't need to use libvirt.

Also, I wonder what kinds of skills are required to figure this out? I don't think just knowing Linux kernel internals would be enough.

Our team write complex code for Spark to sanitize/anonymize personal data before processing. With this we might simplify the pipeline because we can keep the same S3 interface.

Glad to see I am not the only one. Windows desktop also has a big plus: native RDP is unparalleled compared to VNC or any other Linux remote desktop.

I agree. 64kb is so small for modern PCs and browsers but it's still so big for microcontrollers that most of them can't afford it and is wasteful cosidering their application size.

I am not sure about cheap ARM devices but I am using an old Haswell i5-4670 and it is more than enough. So it won't be issue later. Also, when you are talking about consumer NAS, the real problem is that any low-end systems can saturat

Yes. Much faster. Especially for HDDs. But at a cost of a lot of RAM. Also lz4 compression can speed up your HDDs up to 10x (!) to read and 3x to write. [1, see "To compress, or not to compress, that is the question" section.] But

PIO is definetly interesting stuff. This has its own assembly language (.pio) to program. Custom peripherals can be implemented by using this assembly. Raspberry Pi already provides example programs such as custom I2C, SPI, UART (they are d

It does. The point is how Apple could use so much silicon space for the CPU in the SoC. Most AP and CPUs are designed to be general purpose as possible, so there are some spaces used for unnecessary interfaces. But Apple could use those spa

I am using Windows VM with GPU passthrough too. If you want it out of the box (well, kinda) I would recommend Proxmox. Proxmox is amazing hypervisor OS. Otherwise you need to study tricky things a lot: QEMU, Kernel configuration for VFIO. A
