Thinking about it, we also say “injured or dead" (사상자) when it's about the number.

I am Korean and we are getting "dead confirmed" number separately now, reported by hospitals. So yes, "cardiac arrest" is reported from the accident site and it is unlikely that they are going to survive. I wonder how it

S3 Deep Archive is two time cheaper than B2. BUT you are not supposed to just rclone to S3 Deep Archive because it charges you based on the number of files you upload. The upload fee (PUT request fee) is $0.065/1000files so it will cha

What is the maximum size of each .tar.zstd.ssl ? We have a storage with 40TB with 100 million files, then what is the expected number of archive files?

Not sure in other countries, but in my country (Korea) they were called PDP and rarely called plasma TV even knowing the technology behind it. It's a bit funny thinking about "Plasma" but it should be fine. BTW, it had been d

Sounds very interesting! Do VMs work with a display session (Xorg) too? Some GPU-enabled applications require an X server with a physical HDMI/Displayport attached.

Multi-AZ architecture just double the cost at least, and it tends to cost even much more if the business is small. Good engineers find the balance between the cost and the availability.

AFAIR I needed to do that when upgrading pip itself on Windows. `pip install --upgrade pip` may trigger error on Windows because the binary cannot be updated itself. `python -m pip install --upgrade pip` works instead.

Well, interestingly Microsoft claims that Windows is the largest git repo on the planet (2017). And it looks bigger than Linux by its repo size: > the Windows code base is approximately 3.5M files and, when checked in to a Git repo, resu

UUIDv7 looks interesting, but how is it different from ULID [1] in practice? I was considering using ULID for a upcoming new project because it is lexicographically sortable but it looks like UUIDv7 just can replace that. [1]: https:/

Actually I was asking the question looking at the etcd doc you linked. The etcd doc explains like it is just better than Zookeeper. Then why there are so many projects still rely on Zookeeper and spend so much time on re-writing its featur

Off-topic, but does Zookeeper have features that etcd doesn't provide? etcd seems to be simpler to operate at a glance.

CAD is used for architecture and civil engineering. Specifically we need to map a civil drawing (CAD file) to something like Google Map. You can easily see the use case from our competitior website: https://www.propelleraero.com

AFAIK, none of commercially-available hardware supports AV1 encode yet. I guess it is quite expensive to implement AV1 encoder. Edit: I meant no consumer hardware support it.
