Slightly off-topic but I glad that the article mentions "Mother of all demos" [1] I watched this for the first time last year and I was shocked - Douglas Engelbart demonstrated what happens after 50 years. The mouse is the least a

I'm not talking about the desktop UI/UX philosophy but the system itself. It is much more stable than Linux, especially where there's ongoing chaos regarding Wayland.

The GUI isn't as great as Windows and it's often buggy. Let's face it.

Tried Search by Image extension and it is great! My major complaint is the tab management and the New Tab page. To be honest it is the worst I've ever seen. I hope that Mozilla invest much more on UI/UX.

Also x86 mov instruction is Turing complete! [1] There is a guy who run Doom with only mov instructions, but it is of course incredibly slow, one frame every 7 hours :) [2] [1]: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=9751312

The newer version is even more interesting and it's just released on the market now: NUC 9 Extreme/Pro Kits. [1] It's got i9/Xeon options, 3 NVME drives, and even PCIe x4 and PCIe x16 slots. It's bigger but still qu

Be cautious when binding Alt key by default. In some terminal programs they report Alt key differently (use showkey -a) so it may lead confusions.

I guess two reasons: 1. The OS update policies became more "agile". Both Windows and macOS starts to update the OS more often than ever. macOS moved to an annual update from biannual, Windows 10 switched to a subscription-like mod

You are not alone. I am doing it too. RDP on Windows is far superior than VNC in overall. If you don't care about X11 security at all (e.g. LAN, but be careful!) you can set $DISPLAY in the ssh session without -X option. I found it une
