Shadow has too many red flags (PoS etc.) so I focus on Zcash vs Monero. The disadvantages of Zcash is the trusted setup toxicity which requires trust on people even though they put the name on the line. Another problem is that if a vulnerab

Living the Greek reality of being governed by a populist party of clueless people, I hope that the Pirates' rise is not just a show of public anger, but rather a conscious decision. I like a lot of things about Pirates (especially from

Ether is being heavily manipulated for a long time by the Ethereum Foundation, so having the "normal" altcoin/crypto speculation is enough to drive you nuts, but having some a team of bag holders coordinated to manipulate pri

Actually SC1 is the defacto choice when talking about StarCraft esports and the best choice since the best SC players have been honing their skills on SC1 for a long time (see South Korea SC1 esports scene).

Any example that this would be useful and most of all actually applicable to real-world? The example of air flight delay is already done (see: https://www.airhelp.com ) with much better payout. The problem I see on such "pr

Zero knowledge encryption's adaption is on the rise, seems like an ideal use-case to me. It will be restrictive or rather complex and will require more work but if you want to work with this kind of data, this should be a requirement i

What I don't understand is, how is it possible to have so many widely known designers working for them but have no impact on the core product used by the majority of the users, it's really baffling to me. Anyone care to shed some

Fintech didn't have enough innovation analogous to the available capital in contrast to other industries which were saturated. A seemingly holy grail appeared and FOMO was at its peak last year or so. I think the problem so far is that

Seriously HN, 5 top-level comments and every single one is off-topic. Anyway, it's great that they managed to get up and running in such a limit time at this scale. It's obvious that there are challenges decentralisation and statu

Not really unless you know some inside info. Most probably you refer to Confidential Transactions, which RingCT of Monero was based on. The privacy advantage of RingCT over plain CT is that you can even hide the transaction amounts of IO.

Hehe, I wonder if that will cause a big spike in victims. Slightly related "fun" fact, there's a botnet mining Monero for some time now.

Bitcoin's core mission is enabling people to do payments. It's "consumer"-targeted, cash alternative. USC looks like more of a settlement layer that could be used for more than just moving monetary amounts around. I thin

Really unfortunate that DAOHub & Slock.it tarnished the name and concept of DAOs. There is place for some specialised DAOs that will indeed help some use cases. I really believe that eventually some proper DAO will prove their value.
