> Saying that Zig does not have function colors because it hides them at compile time is a little disingenuous, in my opinion. Not to impugn your character, but I feel the same way about the points you're making. > So you admit t

Ugh that "Zig has function coloring" post again. The misunderstanding that post makes is that function coloring refers to at compile time . In other words, in Zig you don't need to write two versions of a function to use it

This is a bunch of fluff: > 20. The best life experiences make you nostalgic later on. Oh really! > 21. Taking things for granted is a slow demise into madness. Be grateful. Gratitude. So insightful. Flagged.

It's interesting that this was built for Bun (vs other js runtimes) because of its specific properties. Cool to see Bun emerge early as Zig's "killer app".

I've been meaning to dig my teeth into rust for a long time. JT's intro to Rust videos[1] are first on my list for when I can devote the uninterrupted hours. [1] https://youtu.be/gesNaLkUJeA

Surprised to see language satisfaction so high. Error handling is very painful, and Go's own tools don't work together (eg. go mod tidy doesn't work properly with `go.work` since being released in 1.18). So many things in the

Just seems neat, but except for the dependencies it's just a way to package multiple shell scripts into one file, no? I've thought about trying it out a few times but can never see its value over scripts in ./bin.

I've been avoiding using asdf because I hate its global shims. asdf-direnv may have a configuration now that doesn't require them, I need to take another look.

I wan't happy with any of the existing tools so I started writing my own using https://github.com/andygrunwald/go-jira JiraCLI seems to spend most of its code budget translating in between CLI args and JQL; that&#

Came here to post this. I'm super interested in versioned databases. They provide so many things "you're going to want" (audit log of changes over time, point in time queries, undo/redo) "for free". Dolt i

Happy to see this discussed on HN because I've constantly been stressing about this whenever I shop on Amazon. "All these brands are Chinese with random combinations of characters for a name" I've looked at laptop cases.

I can't see the value in getting the 2-port adapter over the 67w fast charge one. You could always charge your phone through your laptop if you really don't have a second power brick.

I compared the 14" Pro to the M2 Air and here's how it looks to me: MBP 14 base M1 Pro, 32G ram, 512hd = $2400. MBA upgraded M2, 24G ram, 512hd = $1900. Note the Air is almost a pound lighter!
