That's a(nother) pretty big real-world advantage for Go then, no? I know the solution for Node is to just run one instance per-core, but it's automatic with Go. I'd love to see a second set of benchmarks of the same code on multiple cores.

So does Go's net/http module really provide basically exactly the same programming model as Node? If so, why use Node? One thing the author didn't mention is that Go will use multiple cores in this example, whereas Node is single-threaded.

List comprehensions iterate in the same order as the for loops. If it helps, stick a mental newline in there :P [(x, y) for x in range(10) for y in range(5)...]

There's no way I'd put Python 3 and Perl 6 in the same sentence. Also, IMO there's no chance of Perl 6 being successful in time (which makes me sad, because 10 years ago or so I was really hopeful about it).

TLDR: You can write a comparator function and use it like with C's 'qsort'.

I'm glad he made the correct distinction between partial application and currying. The article is worth it for his helpful explanation of the two alone. Though, it's slightly off on the initial presentation of currying. Currying is the act

Every time I'm reminded of Tcl's history through Sun I wonder how much would have had to have been different for Tcl to have ascended instead of Java. Was it the decision of one man who just liked Java better? Was it for more technical reas
