Another new HDL: https://veryl-lang.org/ It'll be a long while before either gets enough traction to be serious competition to system erilog, even if SV is, compared to modern software languages, outdated.

The normalization doesn't have to be "live". You could apply the factor at time of rating and then not change it.

That's good to hear; I'm definitely a fan of SBOMs. But it doesn't fully address the risk introduced with automatic selection of the latest package version. If a package has no dependencies, for example, the SBOM wouldn'

Right but everytime a new immutable release is created, it automatically pulls the latest version of every package. It's not a manual change of package versions.

I really like the idea of immutable Linux and bootable containers. My next project will probably be switching to bazzite. But I took a look at the Containerfile[1], and I have some big concerns about the fragility of their supply chain. It

Have you considered making something more expensive with better performance? Commercially? You mention Keysight VNA's in the $10,000+ range, but we regularly buy VNA's in the $100,000+ range. I imagine with a $1000 budget you coul

Very impressive. Interesting how expensive the components get. I'm guessing it's more of a "anyone who really needs this can afford it" kind of thing.

I've been pretty happy with its search and have never had issues finding emails. The UI isn't great and theres a lot of cruft to filter through but it does work...

Bummer there's no free tier. I've been bashing my head against an intermittent CI failure problem on Github runners for probably a couple years now. I think it's related to the networking stack in their runner image and the f

I want to love hardware as code. I really do. I love infrastructure as code, devops as codezyou nake it. But I just don't think it's ever going to happen. At least not fully. Something about it to me just has to be graphical. Mayb

This is very cool. I still think MS RDP is the best remote desktop client and protocol. The performance is just insanely good, and the client is easily available on 95% of computers. The multi-monitor support is also awesome. The only downs

I wish pfblocker-ng was as easy to use and polished as pihole. It seems silly to run an extra DNS resolver if I'm already running one on pfsense, but the interface makes it tempting

This has been on my list to implement for a while. It's a really great idea for things like proxmox and pfsense that you probably don't want to use LetsEncrypt for, but support ACME.

Is it clear? Apple doesn't publish endurance specs for their drives so there's actually no way to tell. 600x full drive writes (what the 2TB SN850X is specced for) is probably enough for the vast majority of users to never have to

What's the legal basis for granting the injuction? Also what's WP Engine's legal basis for their counter suit? Isn't it Automattic's business? Can't they refuse to do business with someone if they want?

You're correct that these are for manufacturing only. I've never heard of them being used for actual design purposes and that's probably because if you wanted an actual diode, you'd just use a "real" one.
