I've been fighting against this chicken and egg problem in my homelab. I have a step CA SSH CA set up along with automated deployment, bootstrapping, and cert renewals with an ansible playbook. It sets StrictHostKeyChecking yes in the

When Microsoft rewrote it in go, there was a comment from one of the leads that they chose it over rust because of the similarity in paradigms (garbage collection, etc), and that using rust would've been more difficult, requiring a lot

s6-overlay is a popular container image base for many self hosted services, and it uses an suid binary for startup. I wonder if this could be used to escape the container?

Very cool, especially the accuracy improvements. But is GPU really necessary? SNES is so old I wonder why you couldn't get away with CPU-only. Even if GPU is more efficient, is it worth the headache of supporting way more hardware comb

As an RF expert I can assure you that I could create a device to wirelessly interfere with a pacemaker. A pathological one, maybe, but the point remains: regulation is needed.

Are we really saving that much by not having semicolons? IDEs could probably autocomplete this with high success, and it removes ambiguity from weird edge cases. On the other hand, I've not once had to think about where go is putting s

I was much more opposed to this early on than I am now. With modern IDEs and extensions handling tabs vs spaces, tab width, and formatting, python ends up being very easy to read and write. I use it daily, and while I hate it for other reas

I really wanted to use vscodium but had to go back to vscode proper because the remote ssh extension is just nowhere near as good. The open source one uses a JS library to implement the SSH protocol rather than using a system binary which m

Odd to me that the focus seems to be on the inactivity of Google's package when https://github.com/gofrs/uuid not only conforms to the newer standard but is actively maintained.

There was a similar (in spirit) project to upscale and resample Avatar the Last Airbender [1] because the original DVD release was so awful. Shortly after, Nickolodeon released a blu-ray boxed set that was quite a bit better than the DVDs,

I am really really weary of installing anything from "user" repos, whether it's AUR or Fedora copr. It feels like the wild west. Admittedly, maintainers of Debian packages could just as easily mess up or release something mal
