They will most likely value the vision and concept of Anand, otherwise he would not have agreed to sell. He's not actively running it anymore, so it makes sense. The guy worked on it for 15 years and brought it up from nothing, well de

And yet most iOS developers just swallow their anger and keep on developing for iOS which in turn enables Apple to keep on ridiculing their devs.

For some reason my SSDs have never lasted very long. Ive been using consumer grade SSDs since 2009 and among those which failed are a SuperTalent Ultradrive 128GB, Intel X-25M and Crucial M400. Now i use a Samsung 840 Evo which is actually

ping 200ms to google is horrible and more like a dial up modem, with a good connection a <20ms ping is reasonable and if you take into account that 30fps equals about 33ms per frame, game streaming is entirely possible and has been prove

Uh, days of sleep deprivation + lots of caffeine is recipe for disaster. I have read about people getting heart attacks from that kind of combination if you take it to extremes.

Don't fool yourself, these people are amazing, but hey are outliers. While i understand that many people here aspire to be like this and you should, realistically speaking these people have been very lucky. Most people 80+ either have

Migrating an existing project won't be easy sure, but making the move to UE for a new project would be much easier for Unity devs now.

Awesome, the last thing that held me back jumping ship from Unity was that i love C# so much and have no prior C++ experience.

Probably one of the best usecases for parallel processing and truly saturating a massive multi core enviroment to the fullest. On the other hand in 2014, having >4 cores in the desktop space hardly has any benefits over 2-4 cores with hi

why not first upscaling ? Your (and mine) rMBP do the same thing and that makes 1680 look a lot better than native 1680.

I agree, while 32" makes native 4K useable in terms of desktop real estate, 8K in retina mode (basically viewable 4K) would be the endgame for usable monitors i guess. However since we are already starting with 5K, i don't think w

Yes, 1080p in the DK2 is worse that i had imagined. But Oculus apparently demoed a device with a 1440p screen which is already a lot better from what i heard. Still 4K and above have a totally valid usecase for VR.

For a normal viewing distance when using a desktop PC 4k on 24" or 5K on 27" is pretty much the sweet spot and i am pretty sure Apple won't go above that anytime soon because the benefits are diminishing.

4K gaming is currently reserved to the most high end desktop GPUs if you want to play any recent/modern games. To get >60fps you'd need two in sli/crossfire. A M290X is not even close to that. But even on a 4K display you

many people today still use 8GBs, pro users might use up to 32GBs but its not that RAM usage has been rising rapidly in the last 4-5 years. In 2009 8GB was pretty standard for high end desktops like 16GB is today. This is a desktop cpu mind

Absolutely, that figure is insanely exaggerated. I am willing to bet it's more like a low latency 1-10Gbit/s connection per team, depending on the country they are racing in.

Interesting article, but the 100GB/s does not make sense, i mean that would require a 800Gbit/s - 1Tbit/s connection per Team ? Uhm no. Even if its 100Gbit/s, that would still be 12,5GB/s which seems like a lot for
