Magnetogenetics seems to be the new trend for remote control of neural pathways. And it indeed sounds scary to me that someone can now engineer a pathogen that will modify your brain cells with living antenae in order to allow remote contro

Because it looks corporations are the government. I really like the idea of democracy, but it looks like politics and democracy are two very different things. Actually I would love to see some usable digital democracy project coming out. I

And we need an effective regulator. For example, I am baffled by the level of oligopoly allowed in the EU cellular/telecom industry. It is quite obvious that prices are synchronized between providers if you watch their dynamics over ti

While I can't substantiate it, I also have the feeling that current crypto hype is unnatural and kind of a bubble. It looks like a lot of fiat money is flowing into crypto and one must wonder where this money is coming from. One obviou

I can confirm this. I was offered surgery for my 2 year old for a problem that is not life threatening and could possibly (but rarely) cure itself. In the end it indeed cured itself.

I agree about engine oil being a differentiator. I disagree about >10k miles with synthetics (maybe valid only under ideal circumstances, such as long trips, driver only, nice weather, good fuel ...). For the rest of the lubricants (e.g.

Thanks for the JS perspctive. Since my frontend work mostly involves hacking together prototypes and trying to integrate some JS libs in as quickly as possible, I guess I am kind of biased.

While I agree with the current status quo, I don't think that it is too hard to break the vendor lock-in here. Most ML people code against pytorch or tensorflow/keras APIs, so as long as AMD is a viable backend for these framework
