true. I thought cargo planes are often used for troop transport and this would be the same, but if they're solely using it for cargo/fuel it should be fine.

I thought the issue was that it was hard to pressurize a blended wing design. All pressurized planes are pretty much a tube shape, which are easier to design to endure metal fatigue and lots of pressurization cycles. The skin of an airliner

It would be pretty cool to send an underwater drone down there, with power/video line to the surface, so it would be pretty lightweight and enough illumination to see in the water.

I think it’s cool, but if they’re actually only allowing 6 people a day and charging $150, it’s stupid. let people visit as they wish, if someone’s dedicated enough to get out there, they should be able to see the piece.

autopilot has been rear ending motorcycles, and has a history of not detecting them properly. also, a rename at this point will not change behavior, owners have already become accustomed to paying lax attention.

surprised this is at the top of HN. isn’t it obvious that every app does this? tiktok, snapchat, even linkedin all open links in their built-in browser and can track what you’re doing. click open in safari if you’re doing anything more than

I and a ton of other kids switched to iphones in HS purely because of imessage. Google knows how big a lock-in factor it is. the wsj article from a while ago is actually the truth: group chats are terrible, mms just doesn't work, etc.

ehhhh, that twitter post is weird. It's like your phone number. You're free to switch carriers, and just like a phone number, you lose it if you stop paying. It's not designed to replace whatsapp, its replacing sms.

I feel like a lot of early 90s-early 2000s automatic sports cars have much less value compared to their manual counterparts, for example porsche and bmw. The price difference is probably much higher for ferrari because the parts to convert

this is really concerning and I think is a much bigger deal than the false advertising. Theres multiple instances of autopilot rear-ending motorcycles over the years. it can't even recognize a motorcycle going 2 mph. tesla hits motorcy

they shouldn’t have allowed it to be released to the public. there’s videos of people just driving terribly and impeding the flow of traffic in the name of ‘testing fsd’. This stuff has very real impact on the public and drivers around it.

if ya find a decent price, go for it. The convenience is worth it. Personally I found the cars I was interested in (mostly sports cars) to be incredibly overpriced. I've heard their warranty is good too.

Possible, but unlikely. The sales tax+registration you'd be paying would be a lot on a new car, around $4000. I believe Carmax doesn't have to pay sales tax or registration on a new car because they're a dealer.

carmax has been doing this with teslas. visited a carmax lot and saw around 10 model 3s, identical specs, with less than 50 miles (the 1k miles is the lowest the site will show) and selling them for 10k markup. they’re literally scalping te

I’d buy intel right now honestly. their pe is 7.8, compared with AMDs 35. Intel is still investing in production capability and adding jobs. unless you believe intel is literally a dead company that PE makes no sense.

fake meats are overly processed, and probably more expensive too. real chicken has far more protein and is better digested than fake meat. from a nutrition standpoint, the real thing is much better.
