I agree. You bring up some great points. It's kind of ironic, at my school we have a great (all electric!) bus system transporting people around campus, and half the time when the bus pulls up to the cutlet, there's an uber there

YES it is 100% rude and weird imo. I was having a conversation with someone at an event, asked him a couple questions, and he only took his airpods out after a couple minutes. It felt weird and disrespectful. I told my colleagues about it a

YES! I would love a site dedicated to quality products, with an emphasis on smaller shops or startups. I just want something curated by people with decent taste. Stuff that everyone already buys, but want a more quality/special offerin

I agree with you on the drunk driving part, but it just makes a lot of situations way easier. A group of 4 friends can go out without having a car, have fun, and not have any anxiety about how they are gonna get home at the end of the night

I only like uber/lyft for one very important reason. Drinking. I truly believe its saved a ton of lives thanks to its ease of use. I'm in college right now, and I couldn't even imagine trying to get home without lyft or uber

Can someone please show me how to style a qt app relatively easily? I've built qt applications, and making some effort to make it look passable takes twice as much time as actual programming. QSS just sucks in making luxurious feeling

That's happening right now with scooter services, ridesharing, and food delivery.

I remember when r/wallstreetbets was going nuts over this stock. Someone actually bought it and made a ton of money, and I suppose that inspired more people to buy in, and lost money on the resulting fallout.

I'd argue reddit is a decent example. They banned some very hateful subs, and then later started banning subs because they 'were not good for advertising' see r/waterniggas.

This always has been and always will be about publicity. 8ch started getting mentioned on national television, and there started to be questions directed at cloudflare. Reddit used to happily host discriminatory, violent communities, and on

Yeah, it's common to see people who already know how to code in college. Plenty of us are working on real cs projects, and with the internet, its easier than ever with the amount of resources we have to learn with.

Nah, most of these areas are already relatively dense. All the nimbys live in places like rancho santa fe or La Jolla, which are almost exclusively homes and have some truly insane houses. However, San Diego already has a huge traffic probl

Ok this is bad. On safari, I think it makes sense. They just show the domain and a lock icon if there is https to make the ui cleaner, and if you click on the adress bar, the full url shows. It's a good user flow, and it makes sense. T

I love shopping at smaller retailers that sell great products. In fact, my main problem is finding them. Does anyone know of a website or something that promotes niche retailers in different categories?

On the contrary, I've seen a lot of great smaller stores be able to set up their own web stores much easier thanks to tools like shopify or stripe. There is still a decent amount of work going towards allowing the smaller guys to have

Scanning a venmo code is a daily occurence for younger people these days. Same with the snapchat codes. Its quick and easy, especially for drunk people. QR codes rock, but yeah, they need to be adopted as standard by google and apple.
