This new firmware update fixed the flickering for me: http://downloads.dell.com/FOLDER04078627M/1/XPS_9550_1.2.18.... Might be worth a try?

I went ahead with a clean install of 16.10, and, coupled with the following firmware update ( http://downloads.dell.com/FOLDER04078627M/1/XPS_9550_1.2.18.... ) seems to have resolved the Intel graphics flickering. T

Interesting, thanks for the insight there. I'm not in a rush to upgrade to 16.10, but I'm also not opposed to it in the slightest. Maybe I'll give that a shot over the holidays here. Thanks again, cheers!

I'm currently running the 9550 with ubuntu 16.04 and can confirm #2 on your list. It's pretty annoying. Bumping the brightness up helps a lot, but when on battery and/or late at night that's a terrible compromise.

Concur. We've been running a small cluster for about a year and we've had the same experience thus far.

Good list. I would add "Software that does not ship is essentially useless." To clarify, I mean that you can polish and try to perfect as much as you want, but at some point you have to get it into the hands of users to be actuall

Regarding the suspend/resume stuff, which version of Ubuntu are you running? I don't have a problem, but I had to do a couple of things to get it working more like a Macbook: http://karlgrz.com/dell-xps-15-ubuntu-t

Fantastic news, this looks great! Just a quick question, can I update individual nodes one at a time in my running cluster, or do they all need to be on 2.1 at the same time?

I use the last.fm app and it detects everything very well from Google Play, both from the All Access service and my own downloaded songs. Have you tried that yet?

Also, suspend works perfectly on XPS 15 with Ubuntu 14.04 and 14.10, although I had to add a couple of statements to rc.local to prevent it from waking in my backpack: echo EHC1 > /proc/acpi/wakeup echo EHC2 > &#x

If you open Google Chrome -with your finger- on Ubuntu 14.04 (and 14.10) it will allow you to use touch for scrolling. If you open it with the mouse...it won't. Weird.

I've been using a Dell XPS 15 with the UHD touchscreen display since November and I love it! I also reduced to 1080p resolution, for the same annoying reasons (applications are just too hit/miss). For the touchpad, I tweaked the i

I'm not saying you claimed to have all three. Only paper I would have in mind is the CRDT paper from Letia, Preguiça, and Shapiro which I'm sure you're already familiar with. The thing that bothers me the most is that it app

I'm not going to spin this up on 1000 nodes to make sure it handles the kind of load needed to simulate actual production traffic (which is what you would need to actually figure out if this would hold up to some kind of large scale lo

I would really love if this actually worked as promised. Way too much skepticism and not nearly enough proof. Kudos for actually putting this out there, though. It'd be great to prove everyone wrong, but I will not hold my breath. Good
