On my firefox (68.9.0esr), a Ctrl+F for "The German character a" finds no results. Also, as a Finnish user, I would not be impressed by a search for "talli" (stables) matching "tälli" (blow), or "länteen&q

That's not an axiom we take; the study of real numbers takes some algebraic and order axioms, and a completeness axiom: Any non-empty set of real numbers with an upper bound has a least upper bound. We can't prove your statement

No, 2020 is part of the 2020's, just like 1600 is part of the 1600's. You would have a point if he had referred to 'the 203rd decade' - but no one does.

Roughly the same ratio in Bolivia's history as the Civil War is in the United States'. Some people still make a big deal out of that.

Most of the code generation code I’ve seen is itself opaque and generates opaque code. This makes refactoring, extending and bug fixing hard.

But git already has this object, it’s called a tree and each commit has a unique tree associated with it. The commits are the object that carries history and metadata on top of the trees. Is your objection that the commit metadata is associ

Nice article, it’s usually hard to keep a reader’s interest when writing about shell. I will nitpick that COMP_LINE et al are shell variables, not environment variables - you can tell by the fact you don’t need to export the “return value”.

Yes, the poster above has assumed the meaning of 'orthogonal' from its etymology, but the use he criticises comes from statistics ( https://stats.stackexchange.com/questions/12128/what-does-or... )

Gödel's incompleteness is for proof systems for languages which contain enough arithmetic to express its own syntax. Lots of things don't go this far - first order predicate logic is sound and complete, for example (see Gödel'
