This is interesting, but I'd love to see an analysis that proves some sort of treatment effect of colocation. Zynga has acquired 20+ companies on crunchbase. Is Zynga biased towards acquiring companies in the bay area, or are companies

Hi Joel- thanks for being open to the feedback. Like you said, you are in growth mode. To me, growth mode means reinvesting as much of the profits as possible back into the company. Paying yourself a large salary during this time is the sam

Seems unwise to have a CEO co-founder be the highest salaried employee at a startup. That person's equity position is probably at least an order of magnitude higher than the other employees. As an investor or employee, I'd find th

The problem is the opportunity cost of time. If a talented technical founder could make $200K per year working somewhere else, then the opportunity cost of building that company (after 2.5 years and with 3 founders) is $1.5M. It may not be

This seems solvable because there are a limited set of identifiers they could use to ban you. - they may have banned your device, so I'd try using a different hardware to register - Use an entirely different credit card. The "name

These have colloquially been referred to as blind credits, and are seriously frowned upon by the card networks. We told a Visa exec that we were planning on doing these and he said that at any substantial volume, we'd get shut down. Sq
