There is a jsx-mode on elpa that seems to work pretty well. At least it does for me.

Right, but it's declarative. You only care about how the DOM looks right now.

With React there really is no notion of manipulating DOM, so there is no need to test it.

It also promotes procedural code for modifying DOM, not declarative. This makes unit testing much harder imo, since you're into the realm of either working against a real DOM, or mocking everything.

Oh boy, jQuery soup. Sounds fun to unit test.

Having built large Ember and Flux apps, Ember seems a big opaque mess. Computed properties which depend upon other computed properties never seem to update quite right. The object system is tightly coupled to the template system. It's

> An implication of these observations is that clients can avoid effort overrun by being less price - and more competence - focused when selecting providers. I absolutely loved this line.

I think he's referring to the tight coupling between the object system and the data-binding/dom-update mechanisms. React and Angular are both able to avoid those.

Mithril is way too opinionated about data structures, where every object/collection needs to be wrapped up. With React you can use anything, it's the virtual DOM you return it cares about.

React would handle the DOM; you would have to have some data model that handles the autocomplete list/cursor position and then feeds the results back into the react component.

If you're doing any kind of rich-client js development without data binding, you're going to have a real bad time. React will fit the bill here, and can be used with Backbone.

The ones I've seen are things like vouchers and charter schools. They are solutions that don't compose.

That's a fine bit of moralizing, but the reality is you have to illuminate a sane path from here to there. Most the paths I've seen proposed do not seem in the least bit viable.

There are plenty of for-profit colleges, and by and large they are complete scams. Color me highly skeptical. In the real world most education is government subsidized, and the counterexamples that do well seem to run on a non-profit model

Well, that doesn't mean there can't be fraud involved. There often is, and that's when things tend to fail spectacularly.

You're not just doing math, you're making a moral argument: that if the length of a copyright term is lesser due to the lifespan of the author, that this is somehow 'discriminatory'.

Well, I'm not convinced a Bitcoin lending facility could really scale into any kind of inter-bank system that handles a fraction of the volume of our current system (since monetary policy works on lending channels).

Usually I have an action call out to some DAO class which encapsulates an HTTP request and returns a promise, then just firing off a different action in the done and fail callbacks.
