I'm not sure what you mean. Do you mean "why would a team choose EC2 over App Engine?" I never claimed that you are unable to do anything specific on App Engine.

That's exactly my point in the post. This won't break down in App Engine's datastore, which is unique. We don't have to worry about it, because performance scales with the size of each query's result set, not the size of our data. On any ot

No, but I'm counting our indexes which store tons and tons of denormalized data (Google counts these when assessing datastore size). If you completely ignore all indexes, we're at 1TB (but even that includes some denormalized data).

Ditto this. When I was 15/16 and considering a pump (I got one when I was 17), I was seriously concerned about social implications. That was an extra year or two spent injecting when I should've been on the pump. I'm willing to take some of

Will back up Scott here -- while not an olympian, I rowed for 4 years on the pump and have biked x-country w/ it. I seriously doubt if I would've been up to doing either while managing injections instead of button presses.

Thanks -- your compliment is enough. We really wanted the app to be free. Just figured I'd share as it's definitely not profitable :).

I'm honestly not sure how to detect which version of Apple's adaptive live streaming protocol thingamabob is being received. It's probably possible, but no, we don't have it at the moment. Tips welcome.

Interesting tidbit: it's taken us months to get approved for the App Store b/c we were a bit stubborn in our refusal to offer an audio-only version of Sal's videos to people w/ crappy cell connections. Since his stuff is so low-bitrate, we

Thanks for feedback, and agreed on title. There are many 3rd party apps out there that have taken "Khan Academy" and we didn't want to go through the legal hassle or harm any developers using our API, so we added that on. We may eventually

We all review frequently and this hasn't happened to us yet. Our reviews are extremely helpful. It has to be seen as a very core part of the dev team's culture. I also explicitly asked this question to some ex-Googler team members about Go
