Setting up a company to shield one's assets is perfectly lawful. In fact, many entities out there exist for this very purpose. However, to accomplish it, one must follow certain rules. Simply filing the paperwork is not sufficient. The in

There's nothing inherently wrong with a single-member LLC. The only issue with it is it's a relatively new entity and the body of legal precedents is not large, so it's hard to predict how a court would rule in any particular case. Instead,

Simply setting up LLC (or any other type of entity) is not sufficient. To shield your personal assets LLC needs to be properly capitalized and be managed like a proper business. Essentially, it will at least require carrying some kind of co

Good point. Connections make the situation even worse (for aliens). Interestingly, it's about the same for humans: 3-4 entities produce 3-6 connections. Both are in the same neighbourhood. The limitation is biological though ( http://en.wik

The answer actually IS objective. The limit of complexity is defined by the fact that our short-term memory can simultaneously hold only five entities, plus or minus two. So, if the code requires one to hold more than seven elements in mind

Great observation. It's very easy to forget after a year or so of good times that bad times ever happened. Yet, this too shall pass. The key component of my philosophy is to always provide more value than paid for, be it 10 days of vacation
