I agree. I love the old win95 UI because everything looked like how it performed. Buttons looked like buttons, scrollbars looked like scrollbars. It was immediately usable. The UX back then was amazing.

Have we all started to mention the language now when we write a piece of software?

The binary sizes that Nim produces are as usual misrepresented. D and C will blow it out of the water. Here's some D code: import core.stdc.stdio; extern(C) void main() { printf("Hello, World!\n");

I think I agree. I used to write a lot of C# v2 and loved it. There didn't seem to be anything 'missing'. Each version since then has added nice things but are they really necessary? Now the language looks huge and complicate

And it still happens today. Search for Dr. Gunther von Hagens series of public autopsies. These were broadcast in the UK a while ago and were extremely interesting.

Trammel completely ruined UO because of exactly what you describe. It was so sad and totally avoidable. I left not long after too.

Go modules are a step in the right direction but still doesn't protect you for when a developer deletes their repository!

The only reason is to be backwardly compatible with the Go community calling what they have at the minute packages. It is foreign to D developers too where packages are at the top level, then modules, etc.

'Linux' tends to have a reputation as being complicated to use or it's just for developers, etc. But nothing could be further from the truth. If you install one of the more modern distributions like Ubuntu, the OS runs faster

Partial application is a technique, not a language construct. Plus, you can already use partial application in JavaScript and have been able to for years.
