Man, this is one of those HN pieces I open and immediately think "I'm not smart enough to understand any of this."

As someone who has been living abroad for the better part of a decade, this is simply not consistently true, no matter how much you want to beat your chest about it.

I'm still unclear as to what you're asserting. Is it that the US was destined to fair this abysmally due to their special mix of circumstances?

After having lived through the lockdown in Melbourne myself, I think it's pretty unfair to the people here to suggest that the reason the cases are so low is because it's just "a big empty island", and not the result of

This discussion isn't about screenreaders or accessibility - and there is nothing to suggest that being delivered a mobile version of a site would make it less accessible by default. In fact, speaking as someone with a blind family mem

I'll play devil's advocate here and say it's not objectively "bad". Looking at the analytics of our most trafficked sites the "tween" widths (where 960px falls) are such a small fraction of overall traffic

I dunno - I always thought we had it pretty good now. Previously delivery options were limited to the handful of takeout menus you had stuck in a binder - not knowing if they were up to date, if they were running specials, etc. Now I can ge

For an individual, yes. However criminality is not a finite resource. You can't lock up everybody.

Not particularly, no. The nature of having caught a "criminal" means the crime has already occurred. Crime prevention is less a cause of justice and more a cause of social work.

Sorry, but what does this comment have to do with the proposed bill and it's impact on being charged for proferring up news articles?

Just to throw another anecdote on top of yours, I've never worked in a shop where they weren't grumbled about from time to time - so I personally don't find the parent's claim to be baseless at all. Many developers strug

In your example, how are floats any different than a flex container with wrapping enabled? The wrapping is still dependent on the width of the children, just like your floating elements.

Would be interested to hear what issues you ran into with Parcel. I've used it on dozens of projects without doing any sort of deep dive into their pipeline - just using the default no config compilation and it's worked pretty muc

My initial reaction to your comment was that you were being pedantic, but after thinking about it more I'm actually in agreement. As a developer I would find the lack of syntax and structure to be frighteningly inefficient, not freeing
