Almost always the article first. Its easy to jump to conclusions by just reading the comments, without ever touching the article; which is bad.

Butterfly effect, and as a result of it the theory that whatever we do is the result of chemical reactions happening inside of us. That means a person's behavior can be simulated given all of his state variables, which may be millions

I've no clue which "Genius" decided to kill such majestic thing as the MacBook Air, and come up with this shit. I'm still working on my MBA '13, waiting for something similar to pop up.

If you are a CTO or manager, please do your developers a favor by not throwing buzzwords at them in 99% of your conversations that you don't even understand. As a consequence of your vague requirements, if a developer chose to implemen

A great way to get rid of global data (mutable or not) is to write testable code, and then write unit tests. I'm not a big fan of TDD or unit testing, but it does force you to think in terms of "contexts".

Yup that's true on my machine atleast. Ran this: #include <stdio.h> #include <stdlib.h> int main(void) { int i = 0; for(i=0; i<200000; i+= 1000) { printf("%d",i); fflush(stdout); malloc(i)

malloc still uses sbrk() it seems; and only uses mmap() when requesting blocks larger than MMAP_THRESHOLD. I'll have to verify this I guess. http://man7.org/linux/man-pages/man3/malloc.3.html

Except for the fact that the arrays you are talking about are still put on the stack.

I've been a loyal user of Sublime until a few years ago when I switched to Vim. Still have this beauty in my computer because of how happily it handles large files <3

Skimmed through first 3 chapters, because who reads prefaces anyway, and kept searching for anything "Machine Learning" related. Guess we're running out of fancy acronyms.

Yes, both gcc flags "-fno-stack-protector" and "-zexecstack" allow the stack data to be executable. The stack is protected by default.

Did you even the read the article? How are you comparing JS, Python (or any language "gaining popularity" in your metrics) to C, when the author clearly describes the set of problems only solvable in C?

Even with a lot of restrictions, I can't imagine how much variables this bot has to take into account; and then generate the output within a sub-millisecond time period. The most interesting part was aggressive positioning of the bot,

Hey I'm a 4.2k player and a developer. I like your app's interface more than dotapicker.com. I noticed both had same suggestions for a given set of heroes. Is the source of data for both of these apps same?
