I thought it would be about that red hot door handle from Home Alone.

"They dont say X as often anymore" is just a distraction, it has nothing to do with actual capability of the model. Unfortunately, I think that the overlap between actual model improvements and what people perceive as "better

This is true, above 190 cm in height some things become issues. Above 2 m must be inconvenient pretty often.

Sure, my femurs are longer than most peoples, but they are with me on _every_ flight I take. So it is kind of frustrating to me with people like in this thread explicitly saying "I do not care, I will recline my seat, it is not my prob

Yes, my knees often/always bump into the seat in front of me, even without it being reclined. If/when it is reclined it means my knees are pressed harder backwards. When I can, I pay for extra leg room or get an aisle seat. My opi

6ft plus too, I agree with GP, definitely a problem for me when the seat in front reclines. My legs are proportionately longer than my upper body which increases the negative effect.

More power to Trump. That is the improvement they're (he) is looking for.

I agree, we (or I) should have gotten out of this earlier. Shame on me, really. But LLM:s have lowered the threshold.

It resonates. But as I see it, that kind of ritual I rather devote myself to at home. At work, the more efficient and rapidly we can get stuff dobe, the better. Drawing and painting is a ritual to me as well. No one pays me for it and I am

Well put. AI obviously brings big benefits into the profession. We just have not seen exactly what they are just yet. How it will unfold. But personally I feel that a future of not having to churn out yet another crud app is attractive.

It is not that "this product is withheld from me". It is that we have laws to protect against abusive corporations. ChatGPT Health not being launched in EU is because OpenAI themselves realized it abuses peoples privacy.

The other way around, but a month or so ago Claude told me that a problem I was having was likely caused by ny fedora version "since fedora 42 is long deprecated".

I do not read the news either. Reading about all the shit every day just makes me feel down, and I am fully aware of what is going on in the world without actively seeking out the news. Trickle down news is enough. One is not a bad citizen

Running absolutely impacts the knees, but the compression of meniscus for example is what circulates nutrients into it so some impact is necessary for healthy knees as well.

I agree. But I also think that workflows like that of noduerme might be due to his own preferences as much as the needs of the customer. I am sure it is a good process, but it is also something that feels good for the developer himself. So

Small business owners not being aware of maintenance hell in large org codebases, yes, is that a problem? I work for a large org and maintenance hell is my job, so I see both sides I think.

What you describe sounds very pleasant and I am sure it leads to great results. I kind of envy you. However, these two things are different: the kind of work that feels fulfilling, meaningful and even beautiful, versus: delivering the neede

When you write for an LLM you write in order to get exactly the outcome you want. It is input to a machine. Talking that way to a person is bound to make them feel weird for sure.

You have a point, but a difference is that humans can be held accountable. The IT guy may break my machine but he will probably get shit for it.

Yes this is what I have done as well. But I also run Claude as its own user on my linux system. This way it is constrained by the OS user permissions instead of docker. Not sure of pro/con yet though.

I am testing running agents in docker containers, with a script for managing different images for different use cases etc, and came across this: https://docs.docker.com/ai/sandboxes/ Has anyone given it a try?
