If I'm doing any sort of streaming (video chunks, etc.), then I'd want sequential pipelining for an optimal experience.

I remember back with XP everyone was installing additional themes and gadgets to completely customise the look of their system. And it worked fine. Why can't it work now? A computer is part of the room. It's part of the furniture.

In the old interface it may have been hard to find things. But once you found them, they were always in the same place. With modern interfaces, everything jumps around and hides itself depending on some obscure context and the window size.

Absolute colorimetric intent often appears to be dismissed as undesirable. It's the only sane way for scanning and printing exact copies of old photos. And for matching two different displays exactly. Clipping off some outlier colors i

No-search is the best part. You actually have to talk with people, and get to know them, to discover more communities! Sadly, it's a proprietary space, yes, but still. The difference with "social" networks (and now the bad st

The blogroll-style linking culture is still alive in Discord communities. With colorful about pages, and everything. Animated emojis are the new GIFs. Sadly they do not offer much in terms of persistent content.

Yeah, I always use beer as well. Works great. 0.2l Milk, 2 eggs, 80g flour, 15g butter, 30g sugar, 85g beer. Mix milk, eggs, and everything else except the butter and beer. Melt the butter and mix it in too. Add beer, drink the rest. Then m

I still haven't found any note taking software that has a variety of strikethrough styles. Besides single and double strikethrough, I'd like to see squiggly line and diagonal dashes at least.

Similar setup, but with one of those harder-to-find Vaio netbooks with an AMD APU. No need for remote desktop. Flawless performance in 3D and CAD software on the netbook directly.

Try game development. No worrying about imaginary best practices. No know-it-alls who pretend their way is the only way. The ugliest and most novel hacks are the best hacks. Very healthy for the creative mind.

It's like an interrupted task, but one that will be lost irrecoverably if it remains interrupted. Very similar to when you remember something that you want to write down before you forget it again.

Yeah. You just create new code files outside of VS, and re-run CMake or add them to the project. Adding a new source file in VS will always shoot it in the wrong folder, and apply some useless template. Other than that, VS is great.

Rented dedicated feels like a nice middle ground between colo or on-site and cloud hosted. It's on the cheaper end. And if you can boot into a self-configuring image, maintenance cost is quite low too.
