It's the port in your Wifi over Data box, that hackers can connect their wireless Wifi cable extender to, so you can consummate all the exoteric phonography that the information highway is compromised of.

Wait until it drifts off further into "it is compromised of". (You can Google that, and you'll find it used in papers already.)

Yeah, but from a user POV at least those are functional and not just for vaguely specified "security reasons".

Yeah. A lot of the karaoke systems (even cheap ones) have their own weird "encryption". It is really just to stop other manufacturers from copying their song collection.

The only one that would fit my mainboard I bought on Amazon, and I only got it to upgrade Windows. The indication on it is "made in China". As a consumer I also have no idea how these suspicious chips that I'm required to plu

Yep. It's part of your job to tell managers "yes, it's possible, but it'll negatively affect performance in a significant way because of such and such hardware limitations, so it's not the most valuable feature to i

Yeah, if you're going to exclude the common use cases, obviously it's going to be rare. (: People still use local storage. (I'd also like native ext4 support in Windows.)

From what I understand, SD doesn't handle color space correctly (or at all), hence all the weird saturated blue-magenta-orange-beige gradients in a lot of its example outputs. And why its output often feels more like a bad Photoshop co

It easily bridges over sections of code and documentation that are otherwise tedious to produce. I can just write a dense rambling explanation, and it'll decompress that into a piece of text or code that includes all the well-known bit

Yup, computers on the LAN don't get any address. From what I understand, the modem would be supposed to delegate a prefix to the router so it can hand out addresses, but this part isn't happening.

No idea. I've tried every setting combination on this consumer grade D-Link router which is supposed to support IPv6. Nothing results in a functioning network. Forum posts I find from other customers of this ISP report the same behavio

My ISP's modem doesn't do prefix delegation so I don't even get IPv6 with my own router in-between. And I need that thing in-between to at least have some control over the IPv4 LAN. No idea what security that modem provides,
