The article says "for mom", which has a vastly different connotation than "for a woman". In fact, the word "woman" doesn't appear on the page. I clicked expecting subtly (or not-so-subtly) sexist. I got a small review after clicking a modal

I just read this, and absolutely thought it was worth reading (and paying for). I, unlike you, love art museums, but I'm not incredibly good at knowing what's going to look clean, let alone pleasant or useful in a UI -- I write a lot of cod

Seriously? That's well above many people who are perfectly comfortable with their financial status and do not feel it to be a burden on their lives. I suppose it's a subjective thing, but it strikes me as a bit much.

It's followed here much more often than in other "known" discussion sites, other than perhaps metafilter. I haven't been incredibly active for a while, and I remember one distinct downturn in the quality of discussion, likely due to a surge

Just a note for anyone using 23 and waiting with bated breath: I've been building emacs from trunk on a regular basis, and using it as my primary editor, for about a year now. It's very stable -- I have so far had to find out about a breaka

Every study I've seen like this is indicating that they're faster to learn for the average joe, and possibly faster for certain types of tasks (stretching an image), not that they're faster in general -- I'm not even sure what exactly that

The "single - for single-letter -- for fullname" option style was popularized by gnu getopt, by far the most popular style. Find has been around for a while and probably doesn't update to that style because of the huge amount of stuff alrea

This is incredibly tough. I've found that if they can't go at least a bit more in depth about whatever it is, or if they can't point to relevant examples of whatever they're talking about, that can be an indicator of them being full of it
