I've used a ton of these tools (two of my favorites are balsamiq and wireframe.cc) and am always excited to check a new one out. That said, at least half of the time, I end up going back to my plain old graph paper notebook and pen. It just

I'm a little confused by this. The article states that Google is primarily targeting online shoppers, but when you read a bit more about the program on the Retailers page on the product site, it talks extensively about benefits like not nee

What other solutions did you look at for printing and distribution for your print product, besides MagCloud? I've been looking at different printing options and always seemed to get weighed down by the trade-off between lower cost (e.g prin

This was an idea I was toying with for a while, and even started working on as a side project, so while I'm kind of bummed these guys have beaten me to the punch (and it looks like they did a nice job doing it), in a way it's sort of nice t

I've taken the exact same approach through the years as I've gradually started working on more complex projects. So, it's sort of comforting knowing that I'm not alone in the "just get something working, no matter how ugly/bad it is" camp.

this wasn’t a failure of, or a reflection of, the professionalism and integrity of our development or Tuts+ teams. How is it not? There is NO excuse for storing passwords in plaintext, on any production site. From what I've read, they had

I think you also need to look at where YOU are in your career, relative to other opportunities. Out of school, I took some positions with low salaries and some (now worthless) equity at startups becuase I was fresh out of school, had low li

I'm always skeptical as to how you can truly, accurately measure engagement on something like G+ or Facebook. Sure enough, this study only measures "public" activity. If you're just measuring engagement by how frequently someone posts, I t

Exactly. Sadly now, we should expect the classic "Oh crap, this story hit the top of HN, so here's a half-assed reactionary apology to try to save face" tactic that we've all seen before, which is incredibly lame. Had he not been, for lack

I am the EXACT same way. I'll literally be preparing to go to bed when suddenly an idea pops in my head for a fix/improvement on a project I've been working on. Four hours and a few git branches later, I kick back with a smug sense of accom

LDS has now become a staple of my domain research process. I haven't bought any domains through it yet, as I mostly just use it for research/to see what's out there, but I really like the results I get back and the overall feel. It just see

Mentally, at least for me, it's too easy to fall into the trap of classifying "work" as something that directly produces results....writing code, changing a design etc. When looked at it from that perspective, it's easy to feel that you/som

Too late, guys. Facebook is already copying the features that make G+ cool/useful (circles, etc), and the one big, inherent advantage you had in your favor (Your user base, e.g every Google account) you alienated by keeping it "invite only"
