Jitsi meet is a conferencing app. You likely mean jitsi videobridge. That's the SFU part and comparable to mediasoup. Mediasoup has a bit more modern codebase and offers a rather low-level framework to build your own SFU. Whereas Jitsi

If you manage it in a day... Even if you take a month. Problem with these kind of things is you never know how much time you're gonna spend. I was pretty active in this scene when I was going to University and had nothing better to do.

That's weird, since sharing each window or tab is standard in most browsers. It's just a 'navigator.mediaDevices.getDisplayMedia' call. So I would expect any webRTC solution to support it.

Codecs usually have different modes. Typically a realtime mode trades quality for speed, e.g it will be just 1 pass with a lot of optimizations disabled.

While hardware is a lot more performant now, game devs are still pushing the boundaries, I'd say even more than back then. Modern triple A games like red dead redemption 2 are a giant collection of such tricks.

The author makes a case for just sending sql queries from the frontend. For public APIs you can probably make a case. But for a normal application it doesn't make much sense. You only have a fixed amount of queries to run. So why would

That's not how it works. In fact there are multiple algorithms depending on the browser, it's not defined in the spec. The most used one currently would be AEC3 from Google, which is quite a bit more advanced than what you describ

I work for a company that builds virtual classrooms based on webrtc. Our customers are mostly business schools, but we have some music schools. For them we activate a different profile that disables all audio processing and selects the musi

For some reason I can't reply to fulafel. But a full mesh is definitely not very doable when you're dealing with a larger amount of people. Close to all conferencing solutions today are working via an SFU for a reason. E2E encrypt

This is more of a low level API. Not some ready to use thing like Jitsi. That is already a big difference with alternatives. Performance seems good: https://webrtchacks.com/sfu-load-testing/ And it is very actively de

Mediasoup has a more low level API. It's more of a library/framework to make your own SFU (although there's an example SFU). Jitsi is more of a ready to use SFU. Mediasoup is newer, but has seen very fast development. Last pe

I think you have a couple of things mixed up. A stun server is different from a signaling server. Jitsi is an SFU, which is neither. The behavior you describe with combining streams is what we call an MCU. An SFU is simpler and just forward

Since twilio acquihired the kurento team, it barely got any updates, while the webrtc spec and implementations move fast. So I'd definitely stick with a jitsi based solution, which is way more modern and getting regular updates.

Thing is, video conferencing/chat apps use technologies like webRTC (which is basically RTP). They are totally focused on super low latency (< 1s). This is understandable, because you can't have a conversation with multi-second

You really think google doesn't have the capability to create a system to detect these ads? This is Google's core business and they do far more impressive stuff in the AI field. I'm not talking about a 100% bulletproof all-co

The annoying thing is, since it is marked as deprecated, everyone installing a package that relies on it will get a deprecation notice. I already had some users opening issues on some of my projects for this.

Google really doesn't care as long as they get paid. They only self-regulate the absolute minimum. I just got this ad in gmail (presented as an email except for the little 'ad' badge): https://imgur.com/xHr7E3

React and angular basically both do the same thing: render a component tree to (usually) the DOM. You use a framework to make this easier for you and I think react does that way better. But if it's all about raw data manipulation and u

I'm comparing my experience from rather big real world apps. So the react app had all of that (didn't use redux though). To give just one example. If you want to dynamically import components, in react you just use a dynamic impor

I've used both for non-trivial apps. I find angular heavily over-engineered. The problem is not just the learning curve, but the fact it becomes almost impossible to do anything the framework authors didn't envisage. React is just

No it's not. It compares it only to x265 veryslow. A fair comparison would be to test every x265 mode against every av1 mode, x265 is still faster for same quality in for example slow mode. Even then you can only talk about faster for
