I assume, it's less about the complexity and more about most people not understanding REST.

Sorry, I didn't mean the blog became the income source, but blogging/technical writing in general. But yeah, I don't make 150k a year by writing.

Yes. Last week I didn't know the exact steps of the TLS handshake. Now, I do. There are probably a bunch of people like me last week.

It can and does work for many people. But for most it's just a time sink. You want to do a cool software project over a longer time? Build your own blog! You want to write? Write!

Thanks! I don't really have secret. But you should write for someone that really exists, or at least existed in the past. Like yourself (from a a few weeks ago).

"Because I couldn't find any other blog software, I decided to write my own." Famous last words of a blogger. I didn't want to fall into that trap and started with a blogging service right away. 3 years after I started

It's probably the number types and the syntax that make Python interesting for all these cases usually dealt with by functional languages. JS got big int just some time ago.

It's well suited for permissionless compute. Only issue is, not all languages that compile to WASM are deterministic.

Most people have a singular image of the world. Google, WhatsApp, Facebook, Tinder. As if those services are the only options. No they are not. The world isn't one dimensional nor binary. Everything is a multidimensional spectrum. I do

As far as I understood it, the tech is already there (Lattice-based algorithms, etc.) but nobody has bothered to deploy it yet. Probably a similar issue as IPv6.

Learning well requires two circumstances for me. 1. I need a goal. 2. The time I need to practice to reach that goal needs to be reasonable. This makes endeavours like learning to speak a language, to play an instrument, or getting buff uns

"if you finetune on your own data (eg internal wiki) does it then retain the near-perfect recall" No, that's one of the primary reasons for RAG.

I studied CS and taught programming 101. In my experience, the main issue with learning to code are all the contexts you have to remember. There is the static type level and the runtime level, all the scopes (class, object, function, nested

We had a cocktail afternoon at the last company I worked for. I had some brilliant ideas after drinking, but looking at the code sober next day revealed, I wasn't brilliant.

The tests themselves are misleading. If I do one sober, I have an IQ of 110, if I do it with my ADHD meds, it goes up to 120. Is that because the meds make me smarter? No, it's because I don't lose attention after 10 minutes of te

I think, entangling slots with Shadow DOM was a mistake. My guess is, most devs just want to use web components with global styles in their page, to make the reusable between frameworks. However, the moment you want nestable components, you
