After reddit doing IPO and getting blasted by AI content, seems a lot of reddit-only people have come over to HN. Quality of technical content and discussions has visibly gone down since. More emotional/low-value/political replies

Regulations about using their own tech to drive inside their own property? The problem rather appears to be with the tech itself being unable to perform "full self-driving".

It's been praised here. However in my experience Sonnet4.5 has produced as good if not better results.

I wonder how archlinux manages to be so stable and reliable then, being "bleeding edge". Never had a single issue with it.

I switched to netcup for even cheaper private vps for personal noncritical hosting. I'd heard of netcup being less reliable but so far 4 months+ uptime and no problems. Europe region. Hetzner has the better web interface and supposedly

I can easily switch banks in a day. Not crypto-heavy either. No loans, insurance, contracts with set date. Are there any other reasons why switching is hard?

Even with RN I've had to learn Swift and also often need xcode for configuring targets and such. RN helps in some ways but native apps are so much better in the long run. RN libraries are so often buggy and disappointing in my experien

7900X same. System uptimes of 1month+ often and nearly always runs at 5.0Ghz. Never goes above 80c or so either.

Docker Desktop is also (imo) useless and helps be ignorant. Most Mac users I see using it struggle to see the difference between "image" and "container". Complete lack of understanding. All the same stuff can easily be d

JS ~~devs~~ writers keep managing to make their bloatware run slow even on highend hardware. Ryzen 9 7900x + 128GB ram + 6900XT + arch yet Cursor IDE still manages to be incredibly slow and freezing up after re-focusing. Even base VSCodium

Daily self-promotion isn't really for HN, is it? AI generated startup + AI generated blog ( https://www.nxgntools.com/ ) doesn't have much to do with HN

Perhaps universal truth or objective facts simply don't exist anymore? Or have they ever? Tiananmen square might have been bad, not too familiar with Asian happenings, but so are post-WW2 conflicts started by western nations.

How are higher fees supposed to make it more exclusive? At least in Europe it's based on monthly net income so you'd need >~5k EUR net a month for some credit cards. They have lower fees and interest rates than regular cards.

Looks like ai-generated bloat. It even has deps for deb+rpm builds yet is mac only. Honestly would not expect anything more from js devs who use macs/windows. I see this so often.

Some sites don't even bother anymore and just send the contents as a multi-MB image. Sort of "pdf as email" to not bother checking if the template works for all sorts of mail clients.
