Great food for thought! I’m currently on an endeavor at work to stabilize some pre-existing rest service integration tests executed in parallel.

In some cases wouldn’t it make more sense to use a drone to drop off water and supplies? I imagine private operators could pitch in as long as their efforts are coordinated with official responders. Of course depending on the load capacity

I use base16 shell across my terminal emulators and at least in gnome or xfce terminal I found that it helps to reverse white text on black backround when using a light theme. And flipping it back when using a dark theme. Makes me wish they

Might be able to use the multimode flag in the fzf command above and it should let you select more than one using Tab and Shift+Tab.

You’re not just going out on a limb, you’re jumping to conclusions. I’m specifically responding to the point already made in the article: “For whatever reason, Obama preferred to evoke memories of Kennedy and Reagan rather than the iconic b

Not just odd, but ironic that an American president who claims to admire MLK would fail to acknowledge him and in doing so helped create an optical divide in appearance between himself and the past American leaders, whom he did acknowledge,

Piping tail to grep is another example I was hoping to see. A simple use case would be to show a filtered live stream of incoming error messages printed to a log.

My first computer software related job was creating Wordpress powered web sites from photoshop documents. Thank you to the creators for making that possible!

If I recall correctly, it was double the fun when it points to the original copy of your other wp install while it’s still running.

I’m confused, wouldn’t RUST_BACKTRACE=1 effectively give you a stack trace?

Ooh they could even make it a multi call binary like busybox! I imagine without it, some kind of mode flag would be required.

It would be cool to have a tool similar to this, but for composing a graph of commands similar to aws step functions (or Jenkins pipelines). I’d call it mapexec :)

As a fan of vi/vim keyboard navigation everywhere, I’m always intrigued to see how other people solve this. But if you’re looking for a more generalized approach, I can recommend a mix of vimium and w3m with vim key bindings.

This is why I like the Either monad found in functional programming. You either have your return value or the error. No exception handling nonsense.

Design patterns that are used too soon can contribute to less readable code too. Like implementing the strategy pattern when a simple if else would be much more succinct.
