Speaking of non-standard controls, it does seem that in the last ten years car designers have just plain forgotten long-standing conventions. It used to be that the fuel gauge would appear on the same side of the instrument cluster as the

That is awesome, congratulations on a remarkable turnaround! Funnily, I'm kind of the opposite story -- mid-40s and fairly athletic. I run around 14 miles every other day at sub 7 pace, play other sports, and am generally in good shap

Kind of unfortunate that a few of the demo pictures have a binomial coefficient and the resulting latex code uses a long/complicated array to express it rather than \binom. I'm not sure I'd want to use this for anything I&#x

Didn't read the article? The authors clearly stated that if there was causation they didn't know the direction and that there may not be a causal link at all.

His book, TO:KY:OO is incredible. If you enjoyed the photos in this article it is worth checking out. It oozes cyberpunk.

It seems there are two slots for SSDs. I'd be curious to know which storage configurations populate both slots versus just one. If Apple offers SSD upgrades like they do for the Mac Pro, it would be nice to order a studio with one sl

I spent half the article trying to figure out if it was some kind of clever pun. But no, they are just using the wrong word.

A common suggestion, and one that I myself chose, is Fastmail. I have nothing but good things to say about them. Fairly inexpensive, fast, and great tools for using a custom domain (which I also highly recommend).

I thought the paragraphs about requiring KN95 in schools were interesting. My kids' school district recently had a policy change that requires everyone to wear KN95 or KF94 masks. What I've noticed is that most kids (including mi

I'm actually surprised it is not higher. For 40-64 year old in the US, the annual chance of death is about half a percent (before covid) so a 40% increase is still a very low mortality rate. https://hdpulse.nimhd.nih.gov&#x

I switched to mbsync from offlineimap about four years ago. I was having issues with offlineimap hanging during sync, as well as slow performance in general. I switched to mbsync and have had zero issues since. Just set it and forget it.

Thanks for the links, that is helpful. I wonder why every tech company uses longboarders in their ads? Is it a trope and done intentionally as a joke? Or more banal -- they are lazy and just copying each other?
