Your information about Amiga isn't correct. In Europe Amiga had really vital Amiga BBS scene. ANSI "BBS" art as a product of IBM-PC world is only true, if you're talking about this so-called "block ascii" that

Don't forget http://asciiarena.com/ It has the history of Amiga's Ascii scene. 3879 collys. If someone is not familiar with the term "ascii colly": It was (usually) a .txt file made by a single person. A

During the last three years I have installed Handbrake twice to convert a just created WMV to H.264/AAC. On both occasions Handbrake just failed to do anything for the file and I ended up uninstalling it. Later I created a kilometer lo

Perhaps. But on the other hand, then I would have been hunting down the moving dots and spending less time on the actual insults. And I probably wouldn't been able to finish it in reasonable time to call it a lunch break.

Luckily there are us who don't mind minor details like that. For me it was so much fun to complete this and to get Swordmaster to say "OK, you win. Well...I hope you’re happy." The best lunch for a while.

Yes, absolutely! For getting distraction free focus and seeing the big picture of code, printing and highlighting pens are the best. In the sense of good use of resources, printing 30 pages of mostly irrelevant slides for a meeting is not.

I wish printing was harder. I have piles of slides filling my desk. Slides on paper, printed by someone else, pages that have been barely read once, their information is already outdated and the contents could have been collectively read fr

Better yet, if only the USA banks would finally get to this millennium and start using chip-and-pin cards. Then there would be no need for this nonsense. My European credit card still has a magnetic stripe just because I might go to USA. In

BTW: In Skype 6.18.59.106 there is an option for "Keep Skype in the taskbar while I'm signed in." When it is unchecked, minimize and X behaves as you said.

In case of Spotify, that window is the application. And the only window that the application has. Hitting X in that window should quit the application IMO.

Well, in Skype (and Windows applications in general) there is a MINIMIZE button for that, next to X and maximize. Why make X also act as minimize?

I sort of understand the point for IM client, that people won't close it unintentionally. But that is solved by showing a dialog asking do you want to close. Breaking Alt+F4's functionality is such an abomination that it is imposs

Too bad, that popular Windows applications like Skype and Spotify have gone against this and made "X to minimize". And their making of Alt+F4 also to minimize drives me nuts.

Any idea what is the actual harm of seeing a human body part? Especially in non-sexual context? How does it wreck a child if they see that "this man has a penis like my father does". At least in Finland we go to sauna and naked sw

Why not just to learn cook from scratch? Cooking for someone at home with restaurant pre-prepped ingredients is like ordering from McD and adding a mayonnaise to fries. If you can't make it, then learn to make it. Or go to restaurant t

Unfortunately GEM on Atari ST didn't have a restart dialog. Otherwise I'd be loudly complaining the page being badly incomplete.
